28th November marked the date of a much-anticipated event in Notes Studio – our first-ever Piano Recital!
Before the event, many of our students have been busy practicing and preparing for their performance. So when the day finally arrived, the studio was buzzing with plenty of excitement!
This year, we held the recital in our studio. The cozy environment was perfect for all the families who came to watch the performers. The recital saw our students putting up different types of performances from solos, to duets, to group performances. For many of our younger students, this was their first time performing and they astounded us with how good they did. With no hints of jitters or nerves, one would never know this was their first time on stage in front of a crowd. We also cannot forget our student Paulina, who brought her children to the event and performed for them. Indeed, the day of the recital was a day for many special family moments.
Our recital this year met many of the studio’s goals in terms of educating our students in music. With our students, some of the aims of our teaching include:
- self-confidence through nurturing of talent
- sharing of music
- fun through music
The building of self-confidence begins in our classes. With attentive, dedicated instructors and a curriculum that fits each child’s personality, we look to enhance our students’ sense of self and build their confidence in that way. During the recital, our students showed us this confidence by being able to perform comfortably without feeling overly nervous or anxious. Many of them were excited to show their families what they could do, which leads us to our next goal of instilling in our students the spirit of sharing music.
We had so many families come on Sunday to watch and cheer on their loved ones on. We take joy in being able to provide a space and opportunity for our students to share their art with their families and hopefully through the recital, they were able to create many memories they will remember years from now. Last but not least, everyone had so much fun, it made all the work our students and the instructors have put in worth all the effort. With the crowd cheering and applauding both students and instructors, Sunday felt like one big family gathering.
For all the fun and excitement, the accomplishments of our students, the presence of their families, and the support from our instructors, we at Notes Studio are delighted to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved for making Sunday’s event such a success. It was the recital of our dreams and we could not have hoped for better.
Now all there is left is to look forward to bigger and better in the years to come!
